In major need of some style inspiration? Then get yourself on Instagram!

As the popular social media site is image-focused, you'll find fashionable communities representing every style imaginable.

When I first joined, I was immediately attracted to colourful street style photos and the talented influencers creating editorial-esque content. (@thestylethesaurus is a great example of an account featuring photography fit for Vogue!)

Undeniably, Instagram is an ideal place to track down amazing outfit ideas or find strong imagery for style mood boards.

At the moment, I’m obsessed with vintage-inspired fashion accounts.

That's right! From odes to Hollywood glamour or fun 1990s throwbacks, there's a ton of vintage Instagram accounts to fall in love with. What’s more, they're bustling with talented creatives. Make-up artists, hair stylists, historians, photographers, you name it.

If, like me, you're crazy about clothing from the past, here's a few Instagram accounts you need to check out ASAP!

1. @vintage_egyptologist

Take me back to Ancient times...

Instagram isn’t all face filters and food porn. Dr. Colleen Darnell runs a fashionable feed that’ll also make you think, striking the perfect balance between eye-catching visuals and intellectual content.

Being an Egyptologist, her best content includes stunning photos taken outside of ancient temples and intelligent captions where she drops facts about old artefacts, hieroglyphics, and more. (Just check out these gorgeous zar amulets). You're bound to learn something new when you visit her feed.

Not only is Colleen an Egyptologist, but she's also a vintage fashion enthusiast too. Showcasing an impeccable sense of style, she wears clothing from different eras with ease. And, judging from her orchid bob, it's clear that she's inspired by the 1920s the most. In fact, her collection of antique flapper dresses will give you heart eyes and make you want to get glammed up more often!

2. @Cogey

The grooviest horoscopes around.

What do you get when cross horoscopes and memes with vintage memorabilia? Answer. Cogey’s incredible Instagram feed! And, I’m telling you, it’s one of the most creative accounts I’ve seen in a while.

In the style of vintage movie stills, record covers, and advertisements, Cogey posts retro-fueled content that is oh so shareable. Likewise, astrology lovers will adore her photos the most. With humorous posts on every member of the Zodiac, her content is definitely something you’ll want to share with your horoscope crazy friends (or even put on your wall!)

Aside from creating vintage-themed memes, Cogey has a great sense of style and impressive makeup skills to boot. She rocks the 1960s mod look, looks great with Twiggy-esque eye makeup, and has voluminous locks that are perfectly flicked-at-the-ends. Groovy right?

3. @marthabeeee

As colourful as a box of crayons.

Anyone here into 1980s and 1990s fashion? What about colourful clothing? If you said yes to any of these questions, then go and check out Martha’s kaleidoscopic Instagram feed. She has a real knack for styling outfits with eye-catching colour combos and playful print clashes. As summarised in her bio, she is a “colour block queen” for sure!

Martha isn’t afraid to mix prints, so don’t expect to see any boring outfits on her feed. (Who would have thought that houndstooth and leopard print work so well together?)

Also, it’s great fun to look at how she styles her accessories! You’ll see her rocking berets in numerous rainbow colours (which I love!), fun statement earrings, and bold handbags with whimsical designs. So, if your feed is in need of a pop of colour, make sure you follow Martha straight away!

4. @pani_pantsyrnaia

Just like a fairytale.

Prepare yourself people! (Cause we’re going back in time). Describing herself as a “lady time traveller,” Angelina Pantsyrania’s feed is filled with exquisite costumes from the most fashionable eras in history. You’ve got to follow her account if you’re a history buff!

Look through her Instagram and you’ll find enchanting ensembles fit for a princess. Feast your eyes upon a range of ruffled gowns paired with delicate accessories. Think romantic gloves, classic pearls, and charming chokers.

As you admire these spectacular costumes, you’ll want to look closely and take in every detail. In particular, I enjoy looking at her regency era looks. Take a peek at this wonderful ensemble and you’ll see why! So, to grace your feed with elegant photographs, I recommend following Angelina.

5. @vintage.glamour.mama

Pure 1970s Glam.

As you might have guessed from her Instagram handle, Lizzie is one glamorous mum. Sporting 1960s and 1970s fashion with a contemporary twist, her stylish feed is a treasure trove of cool looks. On top of that, I can't help but adore how extra she dresses for the school run! Her kid is surely going to grow up with great taste too.

Style-wise, Lizzie looks fabulous in earthy colours, making her ideal for the 1970s aesthetic. She strolls around town wearing intricate crotchet pieces (like this orange flower power bralette and matching shorts), funky Penny Lane coats, dazzling jumpsuits, and flattering flares.

Lizzie also knows how to accessorise. Browse her latest posts and you'll find plenty of floppy hats, relaxed hoop earrings, and chunky shades. All in all, these fun outfit details will rub off on you and make you want to dress in a cheerful way too. Fashion is a great mood boost.

Do you have a favourite vintage era?
